🛒 Holiday Gets & First Impressions ✨

Hi angels! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas. It ended up snowing here so it was really beautiful outside! I took Koji out to play in the snow and he was really happy about it. I try not to go out on my street too much these days because multiple households living close to me decided to get dogs this year due to quarantine and NONE of them leash their dogs.

I've already had a few incidents where their dogs would run up to me in my yard and I would have to pick Koji up to prevent anything from happening. It's really scary and stressful so I just keep our walks to the dog trails these days 😓

This year my boyfriend got a whole week off work so we've been spending lots of time together at my place. I've been cooking up lots of comfort food and we've spent our time watching shows and catching up on games.

With the rise of omicron cases in my city everything has basically shut down again so we won't be going out for a while just to stay safe. I'm a bit backlogged on my posts so just a heads up that the ones you'll see after this are from at least 1-2 weeks before Christmas 💖

Alright so the first few gets I want to share were actually from Black Friday. Jennie's fiancé bought us some Pat McGrath items from the sale and they finally came!! I honestly cannot stress how much photos don't do these palettes justice I'm legit so obsessed with them and if you've been following me on IG you know I've been using these religiously.

I couldn't resist playing with these immediately and honestly I was blown away by the quality of the shadows. The duo chromes have an absolute cult following and I totally understand why. They're incredibly buttery and the color payoff is unparalleled. 

I did a practice look with these since I was meeting Shiena the next day for a little city date and I knew she'd appreciate a look with these. I didn't want to use them for the first time on the day of since I would be pressed for time and I'm so glad I did this practice look, because I really did end up super pressed for time lol but I'll talk about it more in that blog post.

My sister stopped by my place to exchange gifts on the weekend and I'm so in love with all the things she got me. I'm actually a bit surprised she got so good at giving me gifts considering we didn't have a good relationship for a long time until I moved out when I was 21. We spent the last 7-8 years repairing it and now it's just kind of strange (in a good way!) to see how far we've come from basically hating each other haha.

"mini jewel real jewel" box from etude house and the
eyeshadows are really soft and creamy!!

I didn't know Etude House did gift boxes like this! What a cute gift idea. The liquid shimmer is really sheer and pretty, I think it would work really well for daily looks. The only other thing in these photos I've tried is the Klairs facial cleanser. It's nice and I'd repurchase it in the full size if I didn't already have cleansers I liked but I recommend it if you're looking for a gentle, non-stripping cleanser!

I don't have any pics but in exchange I gave her some cute Liz Lisa items and an Animal Crossing themed switch carrying case which she really liked ✨

I feel super blessed for everything I've gotten this year and even though the world is still falling apart, I think little moments like this make it more bearable.

💖 Open Droop Gyaru Makeup, New Nails & OOTD 🙈

Hey angels! How are you today? Last week I spent some time catching up with an old coworker over dinner. We went to this tempura specialty restaurant that opened near my house. I've ordered from them many times through delivery apps but this was my first time sitting down to eat and it was so lovely!

I'm still a little bit anxious about going out but lately I've been trying to get out a little more to test the waters. I'm still taking lots of precautions to minimize my exposure to others by doing things like taking uber instead of using public transit and only going to eat with small groups of fully vaccinated friends (1-2 max) in restaurants that have the necessary precautions in place. 

I think most of my friend circle is relatively safe to meet with anyways since we all live alone and work from home but I still feel anxious about it bc of the new variant. I'll probably stay home and not meet with anyone after the holidays just to be safe 😓 but for now it's really nice to catch up with others and not stay isolated in my house 24/7 for a change.

Anyways, I finally did my nails after putting off a fill for too long and I actually really loved how they came out. I went a little crazy with the bling but I've always wanted to do a full bling nail design!! I'm happy I finally got to rock them haha. 

Normally this kind of design is really expensive from the salon I go to since they use Swarovski gems so doing it myself was both satisfying and cheap lmao

I'm not big on holiday themes so I just went for a neutral kind of color. The bling kind of makes it a bit festive depending on my outfit so it's a perfect match for any cute, girly, or cool vibes I might want to go for! 🥰

For my makeup that day I felt the urge to try an open droop. I use to do these a bit more often (and less dramatic) at the start of 2020 but ended up falling in love with closed droops and tight liner a lot. I was curious to see if I would like an open droop more since I'm a bit better at makeup application now but I actually hated it lol

I'm not sure if it was the choice of lenses or maybe lashes that made it feel a bit off but I really didn't like how little balance it had. I ended up tweaking it a bit when I got home and found that if I just extended the liner downwards as far out as the brown angled shadow, it created the right harmony and balance so maybe I will try this again at a later time!

For my outfit I wanted to wear some of the haul items I got but it was super cold!! I ended ordering thermal tights but they didn't come in time so I wore leggings with a pair of nylons over them to keep my legs warm in shorts.

I felt really bulky but it worked for the night so it's nice to know that this setup could work in a pinch!

The inside of the restaurant was nice and simple but what really took my breath away was the ceiling installation of dried flowers and wheat bundles.

I got my usual order of the vegetable tempura bowl and it tasted soooo much better fresh 🙈 I feel like I can't really order this for delivery anymore lol it won't be the same 🥺

Afterwards we walked around the mall a bit and then my bf picked me up and drove me home. I was so tired I showered right away and crawled into bed 💤😴

🍓 Chocolate Strawberry Makeup ✨

Hi angels! I hope you're doing well and staying warm. It's been really cold here lately and it even snowed the other day 😱 Thankfully it's not cold enough for the snow to stick so it went away after a few hours. I like the snow but my city basically stops functioning whenever the weather changes even just slightly and snow usually shuts us down almost completely zzz

The other day I did another look prompted by a follower via my IG story. This time the theme was pastel pink and brown. I thought it was kind of a weird concept at first but then I realized it reminded me a bit of chocolate covered strawberries!

I had an idea to use the pink as the main lid color and then the brown as an accent in my eyeliner. I actually didn't like it until I finished up the look with lashes and liner but in the end I really loved how it turned out! I think this is one of my favorite looks recently 🥰 I used the HUDA Beauty Rose Quartz palette to do most of this look~
