Holika Holika Aqua Petit Jelly BB Cream Review

Hey everyone, I hope you're all doing well. Today I'm going to review my current favorite BB cream of all time, the Holika Holika Aqua Petit Jelly BB cream. I've been using it for the past year or so now and it's become my staple foundation. Please keep in mind that this is not a sponsored review~
I bought this off eBay for about ~$12 after hearing lots of rave reviews. The packaging looked so cute I just couldn't resist! Although I have not used BB creams in a long time (the last ones I used were the Skin79 ones and they're pretty much used up/don't match my skin very well anymore), I thought I would give this a shot because foundations just weren't working out for me.

This product contains SPF 20 and comes in 2 shades. I bought it in the lightest shade, #1 Aqua Beige. It comes with 40mL of product and a sponge (I don't have pics of it because I threw it out due to the awkward wedge shape making application difficult). Here's what it looks like:
Cute little box~
The little glass bottle
It looks really orange in the above pictures but the color is more accurate here when the lid is off:
The texture is sort of like a jelly/pudding. It's a bit thicker than the BB creams I've used before as they usually feel like tinted moisturizers. This feels like something between a tinted moisturizer and a foundation.
I tried using the sponge it came with but I really didn't like it so I just use my own sponges. Here's how it looks on my skin:
Bare skin
Concealer
Aqua Petit Jelly
Powder on top
As you can see, the product does leave your skin a bit dewy. If you're into that kind of look then you can just leave it at that, but I have oily skin so I always put powder over top~
Color/Pigmentation: ♥♥♥♥
I think this is the best BB cream I've used. Most BB creams oxidize and can become gray or orange. This one stays pretty true to the application color, at least for me. I haven't experienced it changing colors throughout the day so I'm really happy with it!

Coverage:
This BB cream has really good coverage. I would say you could get medium to full coverage with it, depending on how much you apply. My skin has gotten a lot better in the last year so I don't require such a heavy base makeup routine anymore. I do have breakouts here and there but this BB cream along with my concealer keep it manageable.

Texture: ♥♥♥♥
I can't even begin to explain how moisturizing this product feels on your skin. Usually my skin feels a bit heavy after skincare & base makeup. This leaves your skin feeling supple and bouncy. When you go outside, it often feels like you only applied skincare and you skipped foundation. My skin always feels fresh and hydrated!

Overall:♥♥♥♥
This is my favorite BB cream of all time and I will definitely repurchase it in the future. I love that it makes my skin feel like I am not wearing any makeup. This was particularly good in the winter months when the air was cold and dry. My skin always felt well hydrated and taken care of. Although the dewy finish isn't for me, a good powder over top remedies this in no time. The packaging is great too. I love that it comes with a little spatula built into the lid so you can keep things clean and you don't have to make a mess getting the product out~
I hope you found this review helpful! Thank you for reading and I'll see you next time ♥

░ Skin79 The Oriental Gold BB Cream Plus Review ░

I see you're back again! Look at me typing up a storm for you. 3 reviews in one night? I think I deserve some ice cream after this.

Once again:
▲ All opinions/thoughts stated are my own and 100% completely honest.
▲ Unless otherwise specified, all products were purchased with my own money.
▲ If a product works/doesn't work for me, it doesn't mean it will/won't work for you. Again this is simply a review based on my own personal experience.
▲ I don't own one of those fancy high definition cameras, so please don't hate on the quality of my pictures. If it bothers you that much, you can volunteer to buy me a new camera. I'd love you forever

NO TIME TO SPARE, SCROLL!

The last BB cream I have to review is the Skin79 Oriental Gold BB Cream Plus. On the back it says:

SPF 30 PA++
KFDA 3 Function Certification;
Whitening/Wrinkle Improvement/UV Interception SPF30 PA++

The triple function BB Cream keeps skin shining and lifting through whitening and wrinkle care effect, making uneven skin tone and skin texture clean with rich feel of hydration softly cohering to skin and protecting skin from UV rays.

The English on the back of these BB creams is driving me insane LOL. Swatch time! (hairy arm strikes again) :

I also got this from Doll Eyes, but they sent me the wrong BB cream. I actually wanted the original version of the oriental gold, this plus version has a different color cheek/lip tint (⇀‸↼‶)

Color/Pigmentation: ♥♥♥
The color of this BB cream is more on the peachy side, which is nice when I'm suffering from breakouts and rosiness.

Coverage:
This BB cream offers heavy coverage. Out of all 3 BB creams, this one is most similar to foundation in my opinion. I typically reach for this when I'm having a bad skin day and I need the extra coverage ( ̄д ̄〃);;

Texture: ♥♥♥♥
Just like the other 2 BB creams, this one also has a nice smooth and creamy consistency. It's almost a mix between the moisturizer-like feel of the Dream Girls BB cream and the dewiness of the Hot Pink BB cream.

Overall:♥♥♥
While I do like the coverage this BB cream offers, there's a huge point that puts me off completely. It reeks of a rose scent. That might not bother some people but for me a distinct scent is extremely unattractive in a product. It reminds me a lot of L'Oreal products in that sense (which I also am not too fond of because of the rose scent). On the plus side, I do like the lip and cheek tint but I don't use it too much because I'm not a fan of blushes that aren't made of powder. Also the shade is not as orange as it looks like in the picture, it's more of a rosy tomato-y pink.

Dun dun dun! If you've made it this far, then it means one thing, it's time for compare and contrast~ Here's all 3 swatches side by side so you can see the color difference.

Out of all 3 of the BB creams I'd rank them like this (in order of preference):
  1. Dream Girls BB Cream
  2. Hot Pink BB Cream
  3. The Oriental Gold Plus BB Cream
Best coverage:
  1. The Oriental Gold Plus BB Cream
  2. Hot Pink BB Cream
  3. Dream Girls BB Cream
Best texture:
  1. Dream Girls BB Cream
  2. Hot Pink BB Cream
  3. The Oriental Gold Plus BB Cream
Best color:
  1. The Oriental Gold Plus BB Cream
  2. Dream Girls BB Cream
  3. Hot Pink BB Cream
As for availability and price, they're all available on the Skin79 website or sites like Pretty and Cute. The prices I've seen range around $15 ~ $20 or so? You can also check your local mall and of course local facebook groups that carry BB creams in stock!

That concludes my 3 part BB cream review~ Thanks so much for reading! I hope you found these reviews helpful. If there's anything you'd like to see from me, don't be shy! Let me know in the comments or ask me on my twitter/tumblr. Bye for now!

✾ Skin79 Dream Girls BB Cream Review ✾

Haiiiii! Welcome to my 2nd BB cream review. You know, in the middle of writing this, I had the most genius idea that I'm about to put into action right now: I'm adding a "Reviews" page to the navigation bar under my header for easy access. Yay for organization!

You know the drill~ Boring things to say so I don't get in trouble later:
▲ All opinions/thoughts stated are my own and 100% completely honest.
▲ Unless otherwise specified, all products were purchased with my own money.
▲ If a product works/doesn't work for me, it doesn't mean it will/won't work for you. Again this is simply a review based on my own personal experience.
▲ I don't own one of those fancy high definition cameras, so please don't hate on the quality of my pictures. If it bothers you that much, you can volunteer to buy me a new camera. I'd love you forever

ONWARDS, TO THE REVIEW!

Next up on the review list is the Skin79 Dream Girls BB Cream. On the back it says:

SPF 30 PA++
[KFDA Function Certification]

This is the multi functional beblesh balm for juniors. It evens out the skin tone, makes the skin look more beautiful and conceals skin flaws and trouble areas. And it has double ultraviolet rays blocking effect. It is not oily because of the O/W shape and you can feel refresh feeling when you apply it.

I have no idea what the O/W shape thing they're talking about is, but it does feel really refreshing on application. Anyways here's the swatch (again, don't hate on my hairy arm k?) :

I bought this from a facebook group called Doll Eyes, they were having a sale on Skin79 products so I figured "ehh why not" ( ̄□ ̄;)

Color/Pigmentation: ♥♥♥
Out of all the BB creams I own I think this one matches my skin the best. As you can see in the swatch, it has a really light gray tint but when oxidized (see the very bottom of the swatch), you can barely notice the tint. Please note that I didn't blend the swatches at all so don't freak at the extremely concentrated levels of BB cream!

Coverage:
This BB cream offers very light coverage, similar to that of a tinted moisturizer. On days where I have really good skin (no breakouts or anything to cover) a little concealer and some of this BB cream will give me all the coverage I need. This is also good for hot days when I don't want to feel like I'm wearing a full face of makeup ( ̄д ̄〃);;

Texture: ♥♥♥♥
Okay seriously, this BB cream feels phenomenal on my skin. It goes on like a moisturizer and feels so hydrating I often forget this is makeup and not my moisturizer lol. Like it says on the back of the bottle it's very refreshing. This BB cream is ultra light and almost feels like you have nothing on your face at all. Again you are left with dewy skin so don't forget to powder up!

Overall:♥♥♥♥
This is still my all time favorite BB cream of the 3 that I have. The fact that this is aimed towards teens with troubled skin really caught my attention. I have breakouts here and there and I find that this cream really minimizes them (after using this BB cream I break out a lot less). I have no real complaints about this BB cream and I would recommend it to anyone who wants to try a BB cream but may be hesitant because of their sensitive skin. If you're looking for something with light coverage, some SPF, blemish control, and hydration then I highly suggest you give this BB cream some thought!

❈ Skin79 Hot Pink Super+ BB Cream Review ❈

Hello everyone! Thank you to those who voted in my poll, it was very informative for me. If you haven't voted, please do! It helps me keep this blog going when I have nothing interesting to post about lol. As per popular request, I'm uploading 3 product review posts right now. Specifically, they're going to be BB cream reviews.

First off, just some housekeeping I have to get out of the way (because I don't want to deal with any issues that might occur if I don't state this right at the get-go):
▲ All opinions/thoughts stated are my own and 100% completely honest.
▲ Unless otherwise specified, all products were purchased with my own money.
▲ If a product works/doesn't work for me, it doesn't mean it will/won't work for you. Again this is simply a review based on my own personal experience.
▲ I don't own one of those fancy high definition cameras, so please don't hate on the quality of my pictures. If it bothers you that much, you can volunteer to buy me a new camera. I'd love you forever

Okay! Now that the boring stuff is out of the way, on to the review!

As the title says, I'm going to review is my Skin 79 Hot Pink Super+ BB Cream. On the back of the bottle it says:
Whitening / Wrinkles improvement
Ultraviolet rays interception SPF25 PA++
KFDA 3 functions certification

Here's my swatch (don't hate on my hairy arm k?) :

This was my very first BB cream ever. I got it when I went on my trip to Hong Kong. It was sold for quite cheap there so I picked up 3 bottles at around $9.80 each, which is a steal because they run about $20+ here in Vancouver from what I've seen (´Д`)

Color/Pigmentation: ♥♥♥♥♡
The color for this BB cream is great. For those of you who don't know, most BB creams oxidize to "match" your skin color. The trick is that these creams tend to have a colored undertone. This cream for example, has a grayish undertone. Some BB creams come in pink, yellow or even olive undertones. It's just a matter of finding one that works for you. The reason I gave this cream only 4/5 was because of the grayish tint that can sometimes make me look washed out. Other than that I have no real complaints.

Coverage:
I would say the coverage this BB cream offers is around medium. It's not quite as heavy as a full coverage foundation, but it definitely offers more coverage than a tinted moisturizer. On a good day I can probably just slap this on with some powder to set it and I'm good to go.

Texture: ♥♥♥♥
I love the way this BB cream feels. It goes on super smooth and blends really well with my skin. This leaves my skin feeling well hydrated and very dewy. It's a good idea to set this with a powder, otherwise it won't stay put.

Overall:♥♥♥♥♡
This is still my go-to BB cream. I don't use foundation anymore since I discovered BB creams because my skin is fairly clear, I don't really have a need for heavy foundations. I feel like my skin can actually breathe with this on and it actually looks and feels like skin (not cakey at all). My skin can be on the sensitive side but I can say with full confidence that this did not break me out in any way. I don't notice the wrinkle improvement much for obvious reasons. As for the whitening I think it definitely works. I'm a much lighter shade now than I was before I started using this on a daily basis and I can see some of the dark spots on my face lightening as well. The SPF is always nice. Also I noticed that when I use BB cream vs days I don't or days I use foundation, I have much clearer skin after cleansing \(・∀・*) !!

That wraps up this review! I hope you found it helpful. Stay tuned for the other 2 reviews coming later tonight >‿‿◕
