New Job 💖

 

Hello my lovely angels! I hope you're having a nice day so far. I mentioned before that I got a new job but I didn't really go into any sort of detail so I thought it would be nice to share a little bit about what I do!

For those of you who don't know, I work in the video game industry. I've been working in games for 9 years now 🙈 I started in QA and quickly worked my way up to being a lead in my department but I didn't feel like my work was very engaging or challenging. I spent the last 4 years working very hard to change departments and last fall I finally got the chance to!

I'm now an associate producer which is a project management type role in game development. I currently work on the Call of Duty and Crash Bandicoot franchises 😎

I don't really like talking too much about my personal life like this because I want to maintain some sense of privacy but I hope that it's a refreshing read since most gals don't really talk about work 🤔

I started my last job in lockdown so I haven't been working in a studio for a long time. Now that restrictions and lockdown are lessening I'm able to visit my company's studio office whenever I want which is nice 🥰 It's also not too far from my house so that's always a plus.

When I went to see the office for a tour and pick up my security pass, I was pleasantly surprised that they had given me an office! I've never had an office before so I felt pretty emotional that day 😭

I don't really have too many pictures of the studio itself since there is a lot of sensitive information everywhere but here are some shots I managed to take that were ok to share.

In my first few weeks there was a dinner organized for a bunch of project managers traveling from our other studios to meet us in Vancouver so the timing of my arrival couldn't have been any better.

We went to a restaurant called West Oak and they were serving a set menu at the time. I ordered the beef carpaccio, steak, and cookies for dessert! 😋

Everything was super tasty and filling, I actually couldn't even finish the dessert so I shared it with one of the project managers sitting next to me 🤪

I had a lot of fun meeting so many nice and wonderful new coworkers! I feel so reinvigorated and refreshed now that I'm finally moving my forward after working nonstop for so long. I feel really blessed to have such a wonderful and fruitful career that lets me be my best and most authentic self.  

I hope that if you're reading this and you're struggling with your own path that it encourages you to keep working hard to carve your own path so that one day you can find something that works for you too 😊
