[June 2023] Daily Make & New Nails

 

Hi angels! I was playing around with finding a signature daily make style. For a long time I wasn't content with the way my makeup looked and every single time I put on a face I was trying something new. While this was fun to do it was also really exhausting so I wanted to focus on finding a look that I was happy with and could execute on repeatedly with confidence. 

This look was a very "my eyes but better" type of approach. I wore lenses that were very similar to my own eye color but had an enlarging factor. I think this was a good balance of gal elements without being too OTT on the droop but this proved difficult to replicate because if my top liner was even slightly off the whole look would be ruined.

This look utilized more natural and wispy lashes just to see if I could make use of them outside of stacking them with other lashes. I think the balance didn't feel quite right with this look, especially with the large lenses. I guess wispies just aren't for me (｡•́︿•̀｡)

This lash and lens combo was a little bit better, again trying to work with wispy/more natural lashes. I wore this look to work and it was pretty comfortable but I wasn't really a fan of any full face pics I took. I think the eye is pretty close up but in a full face shot it didn't balance well.

I spent all week trying to get a good signature eye down but overall I didn't feel really successful. Thankfully I also had a nail appointment booked so I was happy I at least had one signature point on lock (ㅅ´ ˘ `)

[May 2023] No Bottom Lash Makeup

 

Welcome back angels! Ok so last year I was suffering from really bad seasonal allergies. On top of that I was also super exhausted coming back from my work trip so I decided to experiment with bottom lashless gal make.

I ended up wearing a lighter top lash but drew a thicker and darker droop to compensate for the missing lower lashes. I also smoked out the eyeshadow on my upper lid to create a more dramatic effect since my lashes were quite natural.

I think this turned out ok though I would likely not do my makeup like this again because I prefer the look of having both top and bottom lashes or no lashes at all. Somehow having only top lashes applied feels too imbalanced on my features so instead of putting in extra work to smoke out my eyeshadow or draw on a more dramatic droop, I'd rather just wear the lashes (｡•́︿•̀｡)

[May 2023] Whistler Work Trip

 

Hey angels! I hope you're having a great weekend so far. Today I'm going to share a little about the work trip that I went on. This was a huge company-wide retreat situation where we all got on a bus and was chartered to Whistler for a week of learning workshops and team bonding.

I got my own hotel room for the week, here's a quick little tour:

Tbh I didn't take too many photos and I had very little time to get ready or dress up in the morning because I had to stick to a strict schedule every day.

I did manage to snap a few quick outfits before some of the dinners I had so you can get an idea of what I was wearing all week:

For one of my team bonding activities I got to go to the Scandinavian spa. There were lots of different types of hot & cold baths so I packed a tropical sundress to wear over my swimsuit.

When I got back that night I put on a sweater over the dress to quickly get ready for dinner.

For makeup I kept it pretty simple and focused mostly on liner and lashes. I didn't have too much time each day to be doing crazy eyeshadow looks so this was my go-to.

I also got to go horseback riding! I've never done this before and it was really fun but my body was so sore afterwards (˚ ˃̣̣̥⌓˂̣̣̥ ) ‧º

My horse's name was Biscuit and he was really sweet (⸝⸝ᵕᴗᵕ⸝⸝)

I learned a lot on this trip and I had a ton of fun but it was super exhausting because I basically only had 2-3 hours a day to myself outside of sleeping hours. Despite the tight scheduling and constant social interactions, I am really grateful for the experiences I had and memories I made on this trip! 

I've never been on work trips like this before since my previous companies never did this sort of thing. I'm excited to see what other events I'll get to go to in the future!! ٩(ˊᗜˋ*)و ♡
