Holika Holika Aqua Petit Jelly BB Cream Review

Hey everyone, I hope you're all doing well. Today I'm going to review my current favorite BB cream of all time, the Holika Holika Aqua Petit Jelly BB cream. I've been using it for the past year or so now and it's become my staple foundation. Please keep in mind that this is not a sponsored review~

I bought this off eBay for about ~$12 after hearing lots of rave reviews. The packaging looked so cute I just couldn't resist! Although I have not used BB creams in a long time (the last ones I used were the Skin79 ones and they're pretty much used up/don't match my skin very well anymore), I thought I would give this a shot because foundations just weren't working out for me.

This product contains SPF 20 and comes in 2 shades. I bought it in the lightest shade, #1 Aqua Beige. It comes with 40mL of product and a sponge (I don't have pics of it because I threw it out due to the awkward wedge shape making application difficult). Here's what it looks like:

It looks really orange in the above pictures but the color is more accurate here when the lid is off:

The texture is sort of like a jelly/pudding. It's a bit thicker than the BB creams I've used before as they usually feel like tinted moisturizers. This feels like something between a tinted moisturizer and a foundation.

I tried using the sponge it came with but I really didn't like it so I just use my own sponges. Here's how it looks on my skin:

As you can see, the product does leave your skin a bit dewy. If you're into that kind of look then you can just leave it at that, but I have oily skin so I always put powder over top~

Color/Pigmentation: ♥♥♥♥♥
I think this is the best BB cream I've used. Most BB creams oxidize and can become gray or orange. This one stays pretty true to the application color, at least for me. I haven't experienced it changing colors throughout the day so I'm really happy with it!

Coverage: ♥♥♥♥♥
This BB cream has really good coverage. I would say you could get medium to full coverage with it, depending on how much you apply. My skin has gotten a lot better in the last year so I don't require such a heavy base makeup routine anymore. I do have breakouts here and there but this BB cream along with my concealer keep it manageable.

Texture: ♥♥♥♥♥
I can't even begin to explain how moisturizing this product feels on your skin. Usually my skin feels a bit heavy after skincare & base makeup. This leaves your skin feeling supple and bouncy. When you go outside, it often feels like you only applied skincare and you skipped foundation. My skin always feels fresh and hydrated!

This is my favorite BB cream of all time and I will definitely repurchase it in the future. I love that it makes my skin feel like I am not wearing any makeup. This was particularly good in the winter months when the air was cold and dry. My skin always felt well hydrated and taken care of. Although the dewy finish isn't for me, a good powder over top remedies this in no time. The packaging is great too. I love that it comes with a little spatula built into the lid so you can keep things clean and you don't have to make a mess getting the product out~

▲ Goodbye 2015 (ft. Gyaru Improvement Meme) ▲

Hey guys, I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and New Year's. 2015 went by so fast, I honestly can't remember where half that year went haha. 

I struggled a lot harder than I thought I would but thanks to the wonderful and supportive people in my life, I somehow survived it. This is going to be a pretty long post so let's get to it.

I found out my grandma has stomach cancer so November was particularly hard to get through. I took a few days off work to see her in the hospital. Unfortunately the tumor is very large and because of her old age, there isn't much we can do. I don't want to talk too much about it, but I heard from my aunt last week that she's not doing so well now so that's something I'll have to deal with in the very near future... I've already come to terms with it long ago and my family is prepared to handle the situation. It's just an unpleasant situation to go through even though it was inevitable. Life is so unbelievably temporary.

Other than that, I've just been drowning myself in work so I can avoid thinking about things haha. My social life has suffered greatly and I spend most of my days sitting at home after work just lying in bed listening to my new obsession, BIGBANG.

I'm hardly even motivated to put on a face anymore, which sucks cause I can't stand the way I look without makeup lmao. Fashion-wise I've become so boring and basic, I often find myself looking at old pictures and wondering what killed that part of me. I'm also starting to abandon circle lenses, opting for more natural looking (without the crazy patterns and enlargement) prescription ones. I still have 2 pairs of the G&G Aurora Tri-Color lenses and I'll wear them here and there, but for the most part I don't plan on wearing CL anymore. 

I ordered from Desio a while back. when they had a buy 2 get 2 promo. I've been wearing these lenses every day since I got them. I'll do a full review post later but so far I'm really liking them, they're really comfortable and the color payoff is amazing.

I didn't do much for the holidays. Like I said, I worked a lot and most of my friends were busy with family anyways. We had a team holiday party at work and that was the extent of my celebrations, apart from family dinner.

It was kind of sad and lonely, but I'm grateful for the time I did get to spend with my friends when they were free. My friend Jeremy from Calgary visited again this year and we had hotpot.

I got some super thoughtful gifts and they really made my holiday this year. Special shoutout to Kim and my Senpai for being sweethearts and surprising me with these amazing gifts ;^;

I still cry every time when I wake up and see Aomine on my desk. Fuck. I can't wait to own the rest of the Generation of Miracles. I gave out quite a few thoughtful gifts myself and overall, I'd say Christmas was tolerable. New Year's Eve was a whole other kind of awful lol.

I spent Christmas day with my mom and sister. We had a nice dinner at her bf's daughter's place. There was so much food left over, it was insane. Props to people who can make dinners like this for every big holiday. I don't think I'd ever be able to put something like this together haha.

New Year's Eve and New Year's Day weren't great for me so I won't talk about it. I don't do resolutions, but this year I've resolved to be more secure. I spent most of 2015 pretty unhappy and I really want that to change. I'm going to learn to be more secure emotionally and mentally, meaning I'll take more time for myself and learn to say no to people/things. I want to try and be more secure in my looks too since I really hated myself, especially the last few months.

With all this death and sadness looming over me in the last couple months, I also thought about all the things I wanted to do with my life. I was always a relatively simple person. I never had grand plans for my future but I manged to come up with some dreams and goals I hope to accomplish in the next 5 years (in no particular order):

• See BIGBANG in concert with my Senpai
• Travel to Korea/Japan/Hong Kong with friends/Senpai
• Pay off my student loan
• Buy a car
• Move up into a leadership role at work

5 years is a long time and a lot can change, but I know that if I work hard enough I can definitely accomplish everything I listed. 

Okay, so I'm going to wrap this post up with something positive: a brand new gyaru improvement meme! I made a few adjustments to Lizzie's template so that it was easier for me to read (I just added a pattern and gave the font an outline lol). You can see my previous ones here.

I think I changed a lot this year. My makeup was so sloppy in the earlier half of the year lmao. I sort of fell out of gal makeup in June/July and November, but I'm glad I bounced back.

I've been doing that inner point thing again (I feel like I say that a lot LOL). I think I got it down and now it's one of those habit things I do. I can't do my makeup without it orz. I didn't do anything really interesting this year other than straighten out my brows.... quite literally. No more exaggerated lower lashes like the previous year. I line my lower waterline pretty tightly and I've ditched the circle lenses.

Overall I'm actually pretty happy with my progress this year. September was probably my favorite look. I was sort of torn about my brows but I think the less arched style makes me look less scary lmfao. My resting bitch face game is way too strong.

❤ G&G Aurora Tricolor Yellow Lens Review ❤

Hey everyone! I'm back again from being a lazy shit. I know it's been a long time since I've done a review (and this one is way overdue anyways lol) so here we go~

Today I'll be reviewing the G&G Aurora Tricolor lenses in yellow. Please note that this is not a sponsored review. I purchased these lenses from PinkyParadise here. I also picked up the purple, green, and brown lenses from this series and I will review them separately.

Diameter: 15.0 mm

Water Content: 38%

Base Curve: 9.0 mm

Duration: 1 year disposal

I was pretty excited to try these because I've never seen wearable yellow lenses before. I thought these would be more hazel colored when worn but I think they look more grey/green, depending on the light. They're still super pretty and I was not disappointed at all.

Color ♥♥♥♥♥

These lenses are stunning in picture and in photos. They're much more natural than I thought they would be considering most "yellow" lenses are quite dramatic (at least from what I've seen they're more suited as costume lenses than every day wear).

Design ♥♥♥♥♥

The design of the black outer ring isn't too dramatic. The way the colors are mapped out on the lens blends really well with my natural brown so you really get this "tricolor" effect.

Enlargement ♥♥♥♥♥

These lenses offer a decent enlargement effect because of the black outer ring. Sitting at 15.0 mm, I think the enlargement is pretty natural, as in you probably won't look TOO scary if you wear just minimal makeup (unlike the 16.2 mm tofi blue lenses I had before).

Comfort ♥♥♥♥♡

I didn't experience too much discomfort with these although I do notice that after wearing them for a full day (6+ hours) my eyes do get a bit dry and tired feeling. It's not terrible I've had worse haha.

Overall ♥♥♥♥♥

I think these are some of the prettiest lenses I've ever worn. The design is super pretty and they show up very nicely in photos. I'm currently wearing the purple ones. I tried the green ones but they were ripped so I only wore those ones once. Next up is brown but yellow is by far my favorite of the series!
