We had so much fun during our first meetup that we spontaneously decided to meet the next day. Much of our day was unplanned but we decided to hang out in Richmond because Patrick needed to pick up a birthday gift for his mom after work.
We decided to twin again but this time we went for a sweeter, Liz Lisa inspired look. We both had items we were dying to wear so we based our outfits around those pieces. Although later my friends told me they didn't really think we twinned all that much >__<;;
It just so happened that my friend Aspen also wanted to hang out that day. She lives in Richmond so we all decided to meet up at Aberdeen. She waited for us at this cafe called Baker One. Here's where the rant comes in. Feel free to skip it if you like.

So Aspen ordered the cake set (which came with a drink) for us to share. Before we got there, she also ordered a rice set for herself. So far that's 2 orders right? Then Catherine and I got there and we both ordered a rice set each. That's 4 orders in total, and you're probably thinking "just get to the point already, I know how to count!". Well the sad thing is, our waitress didn't.
First thing that irritated me was that when we asked for the bill to be separated, she flat out told us that it couldn't be done. Knowing that was shit, I tried to be cool about it. I told everyone I'd pay with credit since I didn't have cash on me and they can just pay me the difference. Fine.
The bill came but it only had my order and Catherine's order. Being super honest about our bill, we told the waitress she was missing the two other dishes. At this point, Aspen heavily stressed that the drink (still on the table) came with the cake set. She came back with another receipt and she charged us extra for the drink even though we specifically told her it came with the cakes. We called her back and told her she messed up.
Surely enough when the bill came back, the orders were still wrong. By now we had been waiting 20 minutes to actually pay, and I was getting pretty mad. If you can print so many damn copies of the receipt, why not just print separate bills? You might as well have, it probably would've saved everyone some time. ARGH щ(ಠ益ಠщ)
She ended up taking the cake set out and leaving the drink. Still, for some reason, we were being completely honest and told her she still didn't get it right. Finally, after waiting nearly half an hour to pay, she got the bill right. I payed and decided not to tip (I gave her a little change though), because let's face it, she didn't really deserve it. I mean menus and water alone took 10 minutes to get to us and she just kept throwing the bill at us and rolling her eyes when we told her it was wrong. Even the other servers were starting to wonder what the hell she was doing cause she kept giving us the wrong bill.
Right as we were about to leave, she comes back and was all "EXCUSE ME, WE REQUIRE AT LEAST 10% TIP". I tried so hard not to lose my shit at her ridiculous crap. I told everyone to throw as much change down as possible. Like small change so that she can spend eternity counting it. Then I loudly told Catherine and Aspen, "This restaurant is fucking ridiculous, we're never coming here again. I'm going to make sure no one comes here again for this crap ass service. Tip is earned, not requested." We walked out and never looked back as I'm sure I would've given her the death glare if our eyes met lol.
As we left, I took a picture of the front of the restaurant. I made sure to let everyone around us know not to eat there. The waitress didn't even bother to apologize for her mistakes which wasted a good half an hour of our time. I was mad for so long after that whole ordeal. Aspen said she almost regretted being honest about our bill in the first place.
Now I know some of you might think I was overreacting or being immature. Honestly though, I do feel a little silly for having such an extreme reaction, but that's how upset I was. I grew up with money being tight so I always valued working hard for things. I mean, I might be cheap at times but I always recognize hard work. If someone went above and beyond to make my dining experience amazing, no matter how fancy or ratchet the restaurant, I will tip them generously.
This place really disappointed me because I didn't think the food was that bad. I considered returning with my mom for the cake set because it was a good deal. But then they pull this shit and now everyone who reads this will know about it. It's a shame really (」゜ロ゜)」
After that horrid business we walked around Daiso and then met up with Patrick. We ended up getting his mom the Laniege Multiberry Yogurt Repair Pack and she absolutely loved it! Since we still had some time to kill before dinner, we went for purikura in the food court. They had a full body machine so Catherine and I decided to take advantage of that, but the camera angle was so awkward that our photos came out looking rather silly.
We took another set of purikura with Aspen and Patrick. They turned out much better but we ran out of decorating time haha. I would post them but my scanner sucks shit at scanning super shiny images. I'll try posting them later after I fiddle with the settings.
We went out to dinner with my friends. We had Indian food at this place called Saffron. It's next to Bubble World at Metrotown. The food was yummy and we had lots of fun conversation~
Hehe, you're so cute. |
My outfit for the day:
Top&Socks: Taobao/Skort: Liz Lisa/Shoes: gift (Spring) |
After dinner we headed back to Richmond for some bubble tea. We went to this place called Bubble Queen. The funny thing was, we got lost and went to the wrong bubble tea place! We sat down and some of us ordered, but Branden felt like he could find the right place. It turns out it was on the other side of the same block LOL. We failed so hard. We waited for everyone to get their orders and headed over to Bubble Queen. Catherine and I shared this delicious white chocolate strawberry kit kat bubble tea:
It was so busy that by the time we all got our orders it was nearing 12AM. We dropped Catherine home on the way back. Once I got home I just passed right out haha.
Anyways, if you've read this far then hooray you've gotten to the announcement! Catherine and I were talking for a long time about starting a gal-sa in Vancouver since we couldn't find any active ones. Finally after meeting up, we decided to launch Sugar Rose! The website is still under construction, but I'm pretty happy with the way everything turned out. We spent an especially long time figuring out a nice name haha. I went ahead and made the banner and layout, Catherine did most of the actual content. We'll be updating the SR blog with our meetup news and any active gal who is in the Vancouver/Burnaby/Richmond area is welcome to apply for membership! We're looking to be a tight-nit circle of friends with no more than 5 or 6 members to start. You can find more information on the application page of the SR site ^__^
Also my lenses arrived! I'll be doing a review soon.
Thank you so much for reading! I hope you all have a great night ♥
