[August 2023] First time in LA 🌴

 

Hi angels! How are you? Today I'm going to share about the first time I ever visited LA! I was there for about a week and it was for work so I got to visit my head office which was super cool. After work I stayed another 2 days so I could hang out with some of my friends in town.

I was nervous to fly alone for the first time. The last time I flew to Ireland I still had my manager with me but this time I was by myself and it was very nerve-racking! Thankfully after that last trip I knew what to expect with getting through security and customs so I didn't have any troubles this time around.

The flight from here to LA is only 3 hours long so it's not the worst trip I've ever made.

I got the first option, it was ok

I was shocked to see the city from above. I knew the population was dense but this was much more than I pictured in my head!!

My friend came to pick me up from the airport. We had some time to kill before the hotel would let me check in so he took me to In-N-Out for the first time.

It honestly really wasn't that good. The fries weren't served nearly as hot as they should be for the cheese and sauce to melt nicely so it just kind of sat on the top layer of fries and left the ones under dry and bland. The burger was just ok. I don't understand why Californians are so obsessed with this chain I would literally rather go anywhere else (｡•́︿•̀｡)

After eating it was time to head to the hotel. The lobby was quite nice and I really liked how quiet things were.

The view from my window was pretty but it was weird facing the pool. It's nice when it's empty but super awkward and weird when there are people there because they're just looking straight up back at me ∘ ∘ ∘ ( °ヮ° ) ?

I don't have much to share about the work portion of this trip so here's some pictures of the food we had and what I was allowed to share from the office itself.

We had a team event on the beach and it was so nice!! I thought I didn't like beaches because the ones here are not well taken care of but after visiting Santa Monica beach I think I have been converted to beach lover ♡(੭´͈ ᐜ `͈)੭

After my work week ended I had to move hotels for the remainder of my stay because it was no longer covered and the one I was staying at was way too expensive for me at the time. Here's a room tour of the second hotel I went to:

I was really excited to hang out with my friend Geoff. We've been internet friends for a long time but this was my first time meeting him in person. I had so much fun exploring museums with him! He took me to LACMA, La Brea, and the Getty.

I wasn't sure how to do my make cause I was super uncomfortable with the heat and humidity. I thought I'd try to have a little bit of fun so I did this teal eyeshadow look.

We of course went and had a bunch of delicious food as well and he took me to go see Rodeo Drive which was so beautiful and luxurious in person.

We had a nice sit down dinner at an Italian restaurant we passed by. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and flavors for a place I just walked into on a whim.

One of the last meals I had was tsukemen at Tsujita. This was a really cozy meal to end my trip on. 

That wraps up my trip! It was super busy while I was working cause I was on a tight schedule but I was glad I had a few days to explore the city and take in the sights.
