Hello hello my darling angels! I hope you've been doing well. You already know, I got swept up in life again and forgot to update here lmao the good news is that I've been using my time away from blogging to edit youtube videos so there's gonna be lots of fun content coming soon!
We're actually almost caught up on the backlog so let's get back into it 💪🏻
I didn't get up to much before my work trip late last year except go out to eat more but specifically only late at night. I've always been a night owl but I like that there are often fewer people out at night in general so I can comfortably catch up with friends without having to worry about taking up tables for too long at restaurants and all that!
A few friends and I went for Japanese BBQ at Gyu-Kaku to catch up (I haven't seen some of them since pre-lockdown) and I decided to go for a "cool" vibe outfit.
For the makeup I wanted to do something more fall-like so I dug into my ABH Subculture palette to create this! I actually filmed a video of me doing this look so hopefully that will be up soon 🙏🏻
I was still learning how to use the eyelid mesh tape here and I messed it up so don't come for me about it please, I promise I'm a lot better at it now 😅
I actually didn't really like this look at all so I don't think I ever posted these photos 😓 Looking back I don't think it was that bad but I think I just wasn't used to seeing my cool toned blue hair against warm toned makeup. It's ok though it happens when you just wing your makeup without any real planning 😂
I started experimenting with my normie/work make as well during this time. I don't really like minimal or no-makeup makeup on me. I feel most confident when I'm done up because I feel like I need to put in a little more work to make my features aesthetically pleasing to me. I don't think I'm "ugly' but my features are definitely not conventionally attractive by any standards so I work hard to use all the help I have (skincare, makeup, photo editing) to feel good about myself, I'm sure most of you can relate!
Anyways that's a long winded way of saying that I don't like my normie or work make without lashes and lenses 🤡 This sucks sometimes though cause if I have a really early meeting at 7:30 or 8AM I don't have that much time to get ready for it so I started experimenting ways for me to be faster without going full gyaru.
I settled on this style where I have brown enlarging lenses, a spikey top lash, and a droop but no lower lashes.
I think this is a good balance of all the gyaru elements I like without going too heavy since I do have to wear this for 8-10 hours a day but we'll see, y'all know I'm indecisive as hell 🤪
Later that night I went out for some Korean food with my bf and another friend of ours. I've been gravitating a lot towards jajangmyeon (자장면). If you've never had it it's a Chinese-Korean noodle dish topped with black bean sauce (made from a salty black soybean paste). It usually comes with diced pork and some vegetables and is sooooo tasty and comforting, I highly recommend you try it if you can find it!

The restaurant next door had this funny little sign. I took a picture cause I wanted to draw myself and an artist friend of mine in this style and concept for fun 😅 |
After dinner we went to check out this new konbini that opened up called Daruma. I didn't know something like this was opening up so I was really surprised when I saw it on my feed! Fun fact, one of my friends actually did the signs for them and she thought it was for some sort of ramen shop 💀
The inside is small but has a nice selection of Japanese snacks and drinks. I picked out this matcha milk tea and it was delicious! The prices are fair and it's open past midnight so if you're in the area and in the mood for a late night treat I'd definitely check them out 💖
That's all for this one, thank you so much for reading! Take care 💕
